Reporting Sexual Harassment and Misconduct: A Title IX Workshop for Departmental Chairs
Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a federal law that states:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
In this workshop, Ryan Thompson (Title IX Coordinator) and Henrik Borgstrom (Associate Provost and Deputy Title IX Coordinator) will cover Title IX compliance, including:
- What is Title IX?
- What is sexual harassment and sexual misconduct?
- How and where should Chairs report issues related to Title IX?
- What happens after you report a Title IX issue?
