Fostering Civic, Community and Global Engagement

Fostering Civic, Community and Global Engagement In-Person

Facilitator: Haoua M. Hamza, Ph. D

This session examines the critical role of service-learning field experience as a program that offers students the opportunities for skill-building, networking and internships (Tinkler et al., 2015). The session encourages participants to discuss the importance of creating a campus-wide culture of civic and global engagement, and share their approaches to integrating activities, assignments and programs that increase meaningful civic community and global engagement.

OFFICE OF INCLUSIVE EXCELLENCE: FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ON INCLUSIVE PRACTICES

The objective of this series of workshops is to facilitate faculty conversations on inclusive pedagogical practices, curricula, research, and programs that encourage positive learning outcomes for all students. We discuss innovative approaches to integrating multicultural content and global perspectives in curriculum and a pedagogy to improve students’ engagement, learning outcomes and perception of classroom climate. These workshops are sponsored by the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the Office of Academic Affiars, and CCTL.
